Yes, one can live without a Pepper and Salt Riesen Schnauzer, but it is not worth it.
We love Schnauzers!
They are loyal, playful, intelligent, lively, high spirited dogs. These old fashioned farm dogs have a stable character, are strong, tough and are good guard dogs but most of all they are wonderful pets.
This rare breed was originally used as farm dogs in Bavaria, Germany. Working dogs were needed by farmers for droving the cattle and protecting their livestock when taking it to town. The Standard Schnauzer had all the potential, but the farmers wanted a bigger dog, therefore crossings with larger dogs established into the Riesen Schnauzer, which was called Munchener for many years.
This is an exclusive breed which has developed slowly over many years by committed breeders whom have shown perseverance by keeping to the original bloodlines and characteristics of this rustic dog.
Males can grow to 70 cm and females to 65 cm at the withers.
The coat is harsh and can be groomed every 4 – 6 weeks.
The Pepper and Salt colour shows in the distinct eye brows and beard.
The Pepper and Salt Riesen Schnauzer is a unique dog. They have a wonderful temperament, is sensitive and easy to train. They get along well with other dogs and children.
Training and exercise brings out the best of this breed. They are working dogs and they want to please their owners.
Due to the fact that we couldn't find the Pepper and Salt Riesen Schnauzer in South Africa, we did some research and found a reliable
breeder in the Netherlands.
From this kennel we imported our 3 beautiful bitches and our lovely stud dog, Meinte.
